“The Church that Prayer Builds”, what does that church look like?

"Leading the way during times of disaster will be the church that is well established and grounded in an atmosphere of prayer, the presence of God is evident and hurting people will be drawn to the open doors. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:24 that everyone who hears His words and puts them into practice is like the wise man who builds his house on the rock. During times of disaster, a church that is saturated in prayer is a church built on a foundation that is solid."

Long Days - Sad Stories - Little Hope . . . India

I met a women who lost her 4 year old son. They discovered his body in the surf, her home completely destroyed and her belongings stolen. A wall fell on her and broke her arm. She has a bad wound on her foot that is getting infected. A woman in pain, agony and sorrow. She narrated the whole incident to me with tears in her eyes. As I listened to her and talked to her for a few minutes, at the end of the conversation I saw little hope coming into her eyes. She desperately needs someone to listen to her, talk to her, comfort her, counsel her and just be with her to encourage and motivate her. Again it was a confirmation of how important grief counseling is.
